This article is another one that has recently caught my attention given my experiences with being trolled. You can read it in The New Yorker. This lady Carrie Goldberg is a true inspiration.
The article reminds me of two things. Firstly my experience is nowhere near as bad as that of others which was the point of my recent post about the guy who had 1100 men turning up for sex. And the troll thing is just so insidious.
When I wrote my first two posts about my own experiences, The Truth About Michael Gale and Truth is Fiction I described how the Troll who has been after me enabled his associates to steal millions of dollars and then deflected blame by posting articles on anonymous gripe sites suggesting the complete opposite that I was a fraud and he was a victim and then emailed those claims to everyone he could find who knew me. It is quite hard to be a victim of crime and have the perpetrator suddenly tell everyone that you, the victim, mugged him. It is so unmoored from reality it causes a double take.
Recently I discovered that this guy went to a whistleblower site that talks about a case of a guy called Michael Bruce Gale who is no relation to me and was convicted of fraud. The Troll then posted photos of my wife and I on the site and claimed I was the guy. Anyone not paying attention would see the photo and the story re the conviction and think I was the guy. Its only if they realize I’m not from Colorado and my middle name is not Bruce that they would pick up on it. Its really quite nefarious.
